Hispanic College Institute

What is HCI?

The Hispanic College Institute (HCI) is a four-day residential program hosted at 猫咪视频 that focuses on rising high school juniors and seniors in hopes of introducing them to the college search process. We match them up with current college 猫咪视频 that lead teams that we call FAMILIAs. The 猫咪视频 spend those four days learning from each other as well as their leaders (LEADS and Jr LEADS) and building confidence; not only confidence about getting into 猫咪视频 but self-confidence about how to be successful in life.

How is HCI unique?

HCI is unique in that it changes the 猫咪视频鈥� lives.听 It impacts their lives.听 It allows them to create relationships that last for a lifetime.听 While other programs are geared towards everyone when looking at college search programs, HCI targets and focuses on Latinx 猫咪视频, and so they are surrounded by people who look like them and share their culture and language.听 Students also get the opportunity to meet successful Latinx professionals from all over the state.听 This program allows 猫咪视频 to get deep into their communities and focus on problems specific to their communities as well.

How can I apply?

Applications will go live on Thursday, February 1, 2024. This program is only available to Virginia residents. Students must attend a Virginia high school and have a 2.5 minimum GPA to apply. Applications will close on Monday, March 1, 2024. Decisions will be released in mid-May via email.
